New Beccs HC Brian Poel Tournament 6th September 2009‏

September 6, 2009 by croydonmens4

Team: Ben D’C, Neil T, Lena L, Qaz K, Clare W, Jamie D, Nicky R, Keith O, Jon W, Chris B.

Thanks a bunch to the girls who turned out for us, I’m sure we will return the favour at some point this season :P (as Jamie squeezes back into his skirt).

It was a brilliant run around for everyone who took part, we played some exciting hockey today and this is promising for the upcoming season. Coming third is nothing to be disheartened about, we only missed the final by a single goal and we all know the last game was biased.

Players of the day were Nicky, Chris and Jon.

Positives we can take from today: Lots of attacking play resulting in ONLY 4 goals and a hatful of missed chances.
Things we need to improve on: Vocals, Use of space.

Captain’s Highlights of the day:
Last second reverse stick goal by Jonathan to steal a draw.
Fantastic Nutmeg goal by Chris to open his account for the day.

Thanks again to everyone who participated.

Mens 4’s blog

Qaz and Jonathan will update this blog on a regular basis. Please send any pictures to us so we can upload them. Keep the pictures clean though *wink wink*

So Croydon Men’s 4s are we looking forward to a new season under the Khokhar-Winder Regimes. This coming season we are going to train harder, play harder and hopefully win some games on the way.

With new recruits being scouted far and wide, holding down a permanent position will no longer be a certainty for many concerned. The Croydon Men’s 4s WILL be improving and will probably get promoted to the 3s league.

What are the Croydon 4s about? I have asked this question many a time, scoured to the corners of my brain, gone places where no sane man would wander in search of the ultimate answers… okay maybe im exaggerating a teeny bit! The Croydon 4s are about devotion, passion, hunger and pride. We in the Croydon 4s have this unbreakable spirit, we cannot be broken (okay I think I’ve repeated myself there). We are more than a bunch of guys running around like headless chickens. We are even more than a team. We are a family at the club.

The age ranges within our team are evidence that people of all ages young and not so young can play good hockey.

So to close off this first post which i cant believe has gone on so long :O,
COME ON THE NEW SEASON, THE CROYDON 4s ARE READY BUT ARE YOU????!!
